TRAC Plus Strategic plan 2009-2012

In 2007, the Government of Rwanda (GOR) decided to bring the coordination for all infectious disease control activities under the responsibility of one public health institution. Activities concerning the management in all its aspects of HIV& AIDS, STI’s, tuberculosis, and malaria were until then handled by various national control programmes as well as the directorate of epidemiology and public hygiene in the Ministry of Health (MOH), which was in charge of other epidemic infectious diseases. The GOR expected to create opportunities for increased efficiency and effectiveness by integrating them.

This strategic plan is the first of its kind for the newly formed TRAC Plus - Centre for Treatment and Research on AIDS, Malaria, Tuberculosis and other Epidemics. It covers the period 2009 through 2012. All strategies and interventions to be conducted are planned in line with the second Health Sector Strategic Plan 2009 - 2012 (HSSP II), EDPRS and the 2020 vision for universal access to health care.
